The LaGrange Cycling Classic is the third race in the USA Criterium Speed Week Series. This criterium race is part of Speed Week’s series of criterium events taking place April 21 – 30, 2023 over the Southeast from Spartanburg to Athens, College Park and LaGrange.
The high-speed, multi-lap cycling race will take place on the historic streets of downtown LaGrange, Georgia in an enthusiastic block party. Hundreds of cyclists will scorch through the closed streets of Bull Street, Main Street, and the blocks connecting. The closed-circuit course will supply constant, unmatched entertainment—for free.
Spectate like a pro, on your feet and belly-to-the-railings with a cold one in one hand and a cowbell in the other, as junior, professional and amateur cyclists from across the nation compete in one of the most popular and intense series of criteriums for prizes totaling up to $100,000—and a momentous title.
When: Sunday, April 23, 2023
Time: First Race at 1:20pm, Last Race Concludes at 9:15pm
Where: Downtown LaGrange, Georgia
Cost: Free For Spectators. VIP access available.
Registration for all races (except for kids races at 3:45pm) is available online at bikereg.com/lagrangecriterium. Registration for kids races is on race day at the corner of Main Street and E. Depot Street (near Georgia District Four Public Health) under the TREK tent between 2:00 – 3:15pm.
Children will race in three age categories: Ages 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8. There is no registration fee, but there is paperwork for parents to sign the day of the race.
Check-in and register at Turn Four (corner of Main Street and E. Depot Street near Georgia District Four Public Health) under the TREK tent between 2pm – 3:15pm. the first children’s race starts at 3:45pm.
Bring your bike and helmet.
If you need any equipment, come by Goldens Bike Shop (located on the square) before the day of the race.
Junior races have two categories: Ages 9-14 race at 1:20pm. Ages 15-18 race at 1:50pm.
There is a $25 registration fee. If you’d like a scholarship for this fee, please stop by Goldens Bike Shop on the square to register in advance.
